MAE aspires to create theater that inspires and challenges the mind. We strive to make all of this as accessible as possible. With musical productions in English and Dutch and theater concerts within different themes, we offer a wide range of entertainment for a nice evening out.
"Great theater is about challenging how we think and encouraging us to fantasize about a world we aspire to."
- Willem Dafoe
MAE stands for inclusivity and offers a platform for talent of different ages, styles and origins. In this way we hope to tell as many different stories as possible that deserve to be told. We like to assist our players / musicians in their theatrical development, but also like to look at their own artistic choices from the sidelines. A safe learning environment, filled with fun and conviviality, is what we strive for. The accessibility and affordability of our projects and other services are therefore an important objective.
"MAE stands for inclusivity."
- MAE Stage Productions
By bringing productions of cultural-social relevance to the stage, we hope to get our audience to discuss issues such as (gender) equality, racism and (mental) well-being. A night out should not only be entertaining, but should also stimulate conversations.

We look forward to entertain and inspire both our English and Dutch speaking visitors with our performances.
MEET THE TEAM
Melissa Zijsling
(2000)
Growing up in a musical latino family, Melissa has been at home in the music and musical world since childhood.
She gained experience at Fanwork, The Voice Kids and the Joop vd Ende Academy. Since 2016 she follows private singing lessons with Ruud van Overdijk and she is active in the amateur musical world. She played roles in RENT (Mimi Marquez) and Grease (Betty Rizzo).

On an organizational level, she produced two benefit concert series with her music theater collective Unsound Mind.
Despite her love for being on stage, Melissa's development is paramount. Last year she was hired at both AMDA (New York) and Mountview (London) and followed master classes with Alice Fearn and Lauren Byrne, among others.

In the coming year she will use her knowledge and experience for MAE Stage Productions and will continue to train and work in order to eventually end up in a prestigious (musical) course.
Marvin van der Horst
(1984)
When a good friend introduces him to a guitar at the age of sixteen, music becomes one of Marvin's greatest passions.
It goes fast. He is the singer of various rock bands with which he plays shows throughout the Netherlands, records a number of studio albums and can even be heard at 3FM Serious Talent. After studying International Music Management, he turned his back on entertainment at the age of 23.
In the ten years that follow, the desire to be creative again grows. It eventually results, at the age of 33, in his musical debut as Troy Bolton in High School Musical. He then fulfills several roles as a musical actor, but also takes the first steps as (co)author of new material.

He now uses his broad background and extensive experience on a creative and business level to get the best out of MAE Stage Productions.
